Velvet on a curve shifts tone as it turns. On Ombra that is the whole effect — the same green reads almost black at one end of the back and lit at the other, and it changes again when you walk past it.
We run the pile downward on every panel so it wears evenly and brushes back the same way. On a curved piece that consistency matters more than it does on a straight one, where a mismatch hides in the seam.
